Field

TRIPS

On any given morning at Cornbelly's, you'll see the sights and hear the sounds of children laughing, learning and playing. Offering educational field trips to pre-school and elementary age students has long been a priority for us at Cornbelly's. Having grown up on farms, we believe it's important that the heritage and dynamics of agriculture is something that all children have the chance to be exposed to. It just so happens that we're able to help accomplish that goal in a fun and unique way. We invite you to bring your students to come get lost in our classroom in the corn!

When Are Field Trips?
Field trips are available for elementary and pre-school age groups October 1-30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 am to 3 pm, during private hours when Cornbelly's is closed to the public. This year's Homeschooling Day is October 9 and home schools are encouraged to schedule on that date. Reservations are required.

What's Included In a Field Trip?

  • Online curriculum materials for you to share with your students either before or after a visit to our farm.

  • An "Egg in the Classroom" singing chicken presentation and an animal band singing show

  • A brief video presentation about corn and the maze

  • A trip through the corn maze with an educational passport

  • A hayride around the maze

  • A visit with our racing pigs (race takes place at 11:30 each day)

  • A turn on the Jumbo Jumper for each student

  • A Kernel Cornbelly bookmark for each student to take home

  • A voucher for a free return visit to Cornbelly's for each student (with a paid adult)

  • A small pumpkin for each student while supplies last.

To keep our field trip rates as low as possible and the focus on education, we have a smaller staff during field trips and many of the Cornbelly activities are not open or included. Some of the activities that are closed include: Bungee Bouncer, Climbing Wall, Bee Poppers,  Zipline,  Cow Train Ride,  Grain Train Ride, Bee Lines, Kidsville, Princess Playland, Cornball, Farm Golf, Corn Hole, Paintball, Apple Blasters, Insanity Point, Rat Rollers, Gemstone Mining and Giant Slides.

How Much Does It Cost?
$4/student or $5/chaperone

One free chaperone is admitted for every 10 students! Special needs classes will receive a free chaperone ratio of 1 for every 3 students.

*All groups must have at least 10 students to qualify. A business license (or similar documentation) is required from pre-schools to receive the field trip rate and an affadavit (or similar documentation) is required from home schools. Documentation should be brought on the day of the field trip.

*A $25 deposit must be made at the time of reserving your field trip online. The balance will be paid when you arrive for your field trip. To make payment, please bring cash or credit card with you on the day of your visit. Entire group must be paid for in one transaction. Official school checks will be accepted if necessary and should be made out to Cornbelly's.

Teaching Resources
Hands-on learning experiences are always best when students have been prepared for what they are about to encounter and are able to then discuss what they learned afterwards. We are pleased to offer our Classroom in the Corn learning series to make your field trip more exciting and memorable ... as well as a better learning experience. These Teacher Resource Guides are broken into separate grade ranges and each include: activity goals, National Curriculum Standards, preparation required, materials needed, worksheets, and step-by-step instructions. Upon scheduling your field trip, you will receive a password allowing you to download the links found by clicking the box above.

"My favorite thing is letting the kids play to their heart's content...they are SO tired and euphoric by the time we leave!" Micki Cottam
